On Sunday, December 13, 2015, a local youth group from West United Methodist Church delivered 16 double sided fleece blankets to the Lake Norman Oncology in Mooresville, NC. The blankets are gifts to the patients receiving chemotherapy and other treatments.
“YouToo,” as the middle school group is known, strives to bring comfort to others in the community. The name is a nod to “you, also,” meaning all are invited to this group with a common goal. Although they did not meet actual patients, the group
spent time learning about the oncology practice and the many layers of healing the doctors and staff provides.
Leanne Stoltzfus, the group’s leader, stated the experience confirmed the care and compassion Lake Norman Oncology offers its patients on so many levels. “This unforgettable experience reminds the students that becoming the hands of Christ, has an impact on their hearts and can benefit other people,” Stoltzfus added.
